Fund Objective
The primary objective of the Prime Income Plus Fund is to earn a higher level of income over and above that achieved by a traditional money market investment portfolio.
Investment Strategy
The fund will actively invest in a variety of money market, bond, fixed interest and similar instruments. A range of investments in premium quality financial instruments and institutions moderates risk through diversification. The fund aims to outperform traditional money market investment portfolios.
Fund Universe
The universe will be assets in liquid form, fixed interest and non-equity interest bearing securities and derivatives.
Investor Profile
The fund is suitable for investors having a capital preservation focus and require a high level of income. The Prime Income Plus fund is highly liquid and offers immediate liquidity.

Qualifications: BCOM (HONS)
Sharika has been in the industry for 19 years. Sharika joined the JP Morgan WSS graduate program in February 2005 after completing her BCom in Economics at the University of Cape Town (UCT). In June 2008, after completing her Honours Degree in Financial Analysis and Portfolio Management at UCT, Sharika joined Taquanta’s Fixed Income Management Team as a Trainee Portfolio Manager and became a registered Portfolio Manager with Taquanta in 2012 and a FAIS Authorised Representative in 2013. Currently completing Master of Commerce degree in Development Finance at the University of Cape Town (UCT)
Qualifications: BCom (Finance)
Clyde has been in the industry for 17 years. Clyde was employed as a fund accountant at State Street for 4 years prior to joining Taquanta Asset Managers. After an extensive internal interview process, Clyde joined the Fixed Income Management Team in September 2012 as a Trainee Portfolio Manager. He holds a BCom Finance degree obtained from the University of the Western Cape. Clyde’s focus is liquidity risk management, asset sourcing, deal structuring, trade execution as well as Portfolio construction and management.
BBA (Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration)
Chané has been in the industry for 9 years. Chané joined Taquanta in July 2015 as an intern, after which she became permanently employed in the Portfolio Administration team. In July 2017, Chané moved internally to the Fixed Income Investment Team as a Trainee Portfolio Manager. She holds a BCom Admin specialising in Finance obtained at the Tertiary School in Business Administration. She is a Level I candidate in the CFA program.
Qualifications: BBA (Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration)
Mogamat has been in the industry for over 6 years. Mogamat joined Taquanta in 2019 in the Taquanta Securities (Stock broking) department. In January 2021 Mogamat moved to the Cash team in the Investment Team as a cash dealer. Mogamat Tayb currently holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration, he has completed the IMACS course with ASISA.
